We’re lying on grass,
Facing a brick wall covered in shiny,
evergreen Ivy.
Looking up the night sky,
My arm limbs covered in black,
Pain throbbing in one arm,
A palm squeezing away the pain.
You try to help,
I push you away.
••
And I ponder, ask and wonder
The Creator of dreams,
The Architect of vivid brain vision,
What could it possibly signify
That I am dressed in black,
In aching pain,
And you’re there witnessing
My agony while we’re together
In the dark;
Some place no one’s
Been to before..?
